My husband and I have been married for more than 30 years. We raised our own two sons and two other boys. We also have had many exchange students over the years. One year we hosted two girls, one from Brazil and the other from Germany. That was the year things change for us! Carolyn from Germany had a horse back home and missed her greatly. She talked to my husband, Steve, and he agreed to get a horse if "I" could come up with the money. Well... that's all it took. I managed to get enough money together and we started out with two larger horses. We had so much fun riding and when the girls left to go home my sister-in-law started to come over and ride. It didn't last long, I was diagnosed with a bone tumor in my jaw and was told not to ride let alone be around the big horses. So sadly I had to face the fact that I had to part with my horses. It wasn't too long before I started missing horses at our place. Then someone mentioned Miniatures and at first I thought they were crazy! What came next must have been a message from GOD. We had gone camping and low and behold there was a Miniature Horse Show at the campground! It didn't take long for me to start asking questions. We met Willie McNemar, and he asked me if I wanted to drive his horse. After a brief lesson I was in his cart, driving and HOOKED! We now own several Miniatures and two Shetland ponies have taken pride in the breeds comformation, bloodlines, and beauty. We have been fortunate to show and come out winning. Each year I learn something new and exciting. I have found the people at AMHR/Shetland shows to be very helpful. We plan on continuing to show and breed on a small scale.
I have also discovered that I have the talent of making horse items, Roadster Silks and stall curtains. So please review my Tack Room and Stall Curtain Pages. You will love what I can do for you!!
